Biographical / Historical

Brian W. Aldiss was a British science fiction writer. The three installments of his 'Helliconia' series were Helliconia Spring (1982), Helliconia Summer (1983), and Helliconia Winter (1985).

Tom A. Shippey was a linguist whom Aldiss consulted for notes on the languages Aldiss created for the inhabitants of his fictional world. Shippey was a professor in the School of English at the University of Leeds in England.
