Biography of John P. Dixon and Cecilia M. Dixon

John Paul Dixon was born on September 24, 1917 and was from Junction City, Ks. He enlisted in the Army in 1942, and was stationed at several locations including: North Africa, France, and various states in the United States. His duties while serving in the Army were to train soldiers how to fix tanks. Over the course of his service in the Army, he corresponded with Cecilia M. Masek. Shortly after his return to the United States in 1946, they joined together in marriage on January 15, 1946 at St. Francis Xavier's Church in Junction City, Ks. Cecilia Marie (Masek) Dixon was born on July 15, 1918 in Odell, Nebraska. She graduated from Odell High School in 1936, and went on to attend Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri. Cecilia worked in civil service at Smokey Hill Air Base in Salina before her marriage to John in 1946. They had 7 children together, and were owners of Dixon Distributing Company until 1973. John P. Dixon passed away on April 2, 1973 in Junction City, Ks, and Cecilia M. Dixon passed away on March 12, 2004 in Junction City.
