Scope and Contents

Directives and information largely concerning the discipline, arranged under 51 heads: chronologically under each head. Appears to be fair copy made for the "Lynn Monthly Meeting" circa 1750.

See C4735 (Friends, Society of. London Yearly Meeting. Extracts from the minutes and advices of the Yearly Meeting of Friends held in London from its first institution. 2nd ed. London, 1802), which contains roughly the same material under a greater variety of heads, and which explains that the Meeting for Sufferings [the executive council of the London Yearly Meeting] compiled the 1st edition of the Extracts in 1781, fearing that the Quarterly and Monthly Meetings had not entered "in the books kept for that purpose" the minutes and advice sent them. MS E3 differs markedly from C4375 in language and somewhat in matter.
