R. P. Beauchamp letter
Overview
A letter, dated 31 October 1832, from R. P. Beauchamp, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to his son, John Arthur Beauchamp in St. Louis, Missouri. Besides sharing family news, R. P. Beauchamp urges his son to take special care because of the cholera epidemic developing in St. Louis.

Biography of R. P. Beauchamp
R. P. Beauchamp was the 3rd postmaster of the post office at Fort Leavenworth, circa 1830. As a government sub-agent to the Upper Missouri River Native American tribes, he was stationed at Fort Leavenworth for four years until 1834.
