Scope and Contents
Drawings on separate cards, apparently originals, signed JG.M, etc. Cards ca 4.5 x 5.3", but vary in size.
Subjects: British shore-birds and similar. Captions indicate prepared for a bird-book. 3-digit pencil number (125-502) on verso of most. 2 or 3 specimens in fore-ground; natural surroundings, sometimes showing flocks.
Arrangement
Found in no apparent order. Re-arranged by 3-digit number which seems to reflect biological groupings. The 3-digit number may be a plate-number or a page-number; the single digit might possibly be a volume number. Perhaps the numbers are a key to a standard work.
