Correspondence dated May 1916 and July to September 1916 of the Central Newspaper Bureau of Kansas (Lawrence, Kansas), an organization which served as a centralized agency for distribution, advertising, and sale of products via Kansas newspapers. Of the correspondence which relates to specific products, most of the letters and telegrams address the marketing of gascoils and auxiliary carburetors for purposes of improving automotive fuel efficiency. Principal correspondents are George Hough Perry (Director and General Advertising Counsel), and Walter S. Chandler. Their letters appear on letterheads for the Central Newspaper Bureau as well as The General Sales Company, which names Perry as president and Chandler as secretary.
