Item 1: Dust jacket of Out of the Darkness, by Clyde W. Tombaugh and Patrick Moore (Harrisburg: Stackpole Books, 1980) autographed (on front) by Tombaugh (April 6, 1984) and inside by 50 alumni and faculty of the University of Kansas Astronomy Department and members of the Astronomy Associates of Lawrence, and by Steven Hawley, KU alumnus and member of the crew of the orbiter.
Hawley's inscription reads: Steven Hawley -- STS 41D August 30-Sept 5, 1984. This dust jacket was carried by Hawley on the maiden flight of Discovery and presented by him to the University of Kansas.
Item 6: "My Launch with Steve", by Shawl was printed in Kansas Alumni, pages 6-7. The article is on the launch of the Discovery.
