Martha Toulmin Smith (died 1887) writes to thank Mary Henrietta Kingsley (1862-1900), traveler and author, for a fruit basket. Mrs. Smith also notes that her daughter, Lucy Toulmin Smith (1838-1911), a literary scholar and librarian, is enjoying her tour of Germany.
