Overview

Charles Hughes Terrot (1790-1872), a Scottish Episcopal bishop of Edinburgh, was also a mathematician and a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh for 14 years. In this letter, Terrot writes to John William Donaldson (1811-1861), a philologist. Terrot shares some mathematical notations and equations and asks Donaldson to contribute a literary paper for the Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
