Scope and Contents
Logbook of the Royal Navy ship Dublin, Oct 1835-July 1836, covering part of its assignment on the South American station, 1835-1838. The Dublin was commanded by Captain George Wickens WIlles, 1835-1836, and was also the flagship of Admiral Sir Graham Eden Hammond, chief of the South American station. Identification of the logbook is based on internal evidence. The contents include: date of entry, letters and orders received and written, signals made to and from the ship, and remarks and occurrences. At the back of the logbook is a page headed "Record of the delivery of the Spanish treaties to the squadron in South America.
