Nineteenth century copies of letter drafts
Overview
These two handwritten copies of drafts of partial letters were written by the same hand and at one time bound in separate letter books. Both the writer(s) and the recipient(s) of the original letters are unknown. The first draft, dated 1795, is about art and the picturesque philosophy of William Gilpin (1724-1804). The second draft describes visits to Mongewell Park House in Oxfordshire, England and Needwood Forest in Staffordshire, England.
