Overview

This collection includes several samples of bank notes from the Confederate States of America, printed during the Civil War. It includes 17 - 50¢ notes; 10 - $1 notes; 13 - $2 notes; 17 - $5 notes; 31 - $10 notes; 18 - $20 notes; 10 - $50 notes; 4 - $100 notes; and 1 - $1 Virginia Treasury Note; these are grouped together in envelopes by type of currency, and the envelopes are labeled A-I. There are three additional bills for $20, $50, and $100 in envelope J. Some of the items are very worn and damaged and should be handled with care.
