"I, Lee, Doctors Commons, 1827." Probably John Lee, 1783-1866. Born Fiott, assumed name of Lee with inheritance 1815. Antiquarian. Armorial bookplate has crests and motto of Fiott-Lee. Note on verso of title-page in Lee’s hand: “No. 191. Whitmore + Fenn 1827.”
