The author of this diary has been tentatively identified as William James Wilson (1879-1954), who later became Professor of Public Health at Queen's University, Belfast. Diary contains information about Wilson's daily life: conversations, entertainments, scenery. Little on medical matters. Literary and emotional reflections. Local battlefront news: tanks, flying. Irish and general political and war-news. Last entry: "Hun offensive started...Had lunch at Camiers...There will be few more chances of these Jaunts for a while now..." followed by many blank pages.
