Scope and Contents

A good deal is to or from Maj-Gen Edmund Reily Cope, Ostend, with whom Sevright lived; including an affidavit of Sevright's probity. Sevright seems to have gotten into difficulties with a number of persons, including Belgian customs, and the British Consul at Ostend, Rochfort; he returns to London to defend himself in October 1817. Charts of official mail passing through Ostend included: sender and recipient. Reflects army politics and troop movements. 1 quire begins: London, October 30 1817, other quire entitled: Genl Cope ... October 1817 to ... January 1818. The compiler of the "Cope" quire appears to be Cope, and he may be the compiler of the rest.
