Overview
Correspondence of Sir Lionel Pilkington, Member of Parliament for Horsham, Yorkshire from 1748-1768, who won his seat through the influence of Henry Ingram, 7th Viscount Irvine [or Irwin] of Temple Newsam, Yorkshire and of Hills Place, Horsham, Sussex. In this letter, Pilkington thanks Irwin for his election as MP for Horsham and recounts the circumstances of the election.

Bookplate of Gerald Walter Erskine Loder (added-in pencil: 1st Baron Wakehurst (1934)). Extensive pencil-notes in same hand as blue paper (attached) and page 4 of letter (probably). Page 4 in pencil A. W. F. Fuller November 1, 1938. 8/6. With slip from bookseller's catalogues 778-Surrey-Horsham-Pilkington (L.) A.L.s....8/6.
