A record of wood measurement by D. W. Littell, City Wood Measurer, Lawrence, Kansas, on November 12, 1873. The heading on the printed form is "City Wood Measurer, wood yard, corner of Vermont and Henry Streets, 128 cubic feet one cord." Littell's writing includes the date, the number of feet of wood, and his signature. Littell was appointed by the city of Lawrence to measure wood as presented for measurement, and to assure that each cord contained 128 feet.
