Papers of Theodore Francis Powys
Overview
The collection consists of 1 letter from Powys to Grant Richards (1872-1948), a man-of-letters and publisher. Dated East Chaldon, Dorchester April 17, 1928, the holograph, signed letter indicates that Powys, at his brother's request, is enclosing reviews of his book Mr. Weston's Good Wine: "see the way the reviewers made fools of themselves." The folder includes a sub-folder for the two enclosed clippings. These are from the Morning Post (1 column, dated December 18, 1927, attached to Durrant's Press Cuttings slip, "A New Powys") and the Daily Telegraph (1/2 column, same date as above clipping), "New Novels").
