Album of autographs and letters by members of New York, New Jersey and Boston writing and publishing circles, mostly women. Collected by Annie Isabel (Willis) McCullough, a journalist and children's writer active 1889-1916. Some of the correspondence relates to Wellesley College, which she entered about 1884. She married William H. McCullough in 1894.

Scope and Contents

Autograph album: consisting of about 50 autographs (usually cut from letters) of East Coast members of editorial (book, magazine, newspaper) circles, often accompanied by a clipping of a photograph; and about 40 letters, many addressed to Miss Willis (before 1894) or Mrs. McCullough (after 1895); some to editors, authors, or interviewees; those not addressed to Miss Willis appear to have been acquired in the course of her jobs. Most signatures are those of women.
