Account-book of the estate of Reverend Richard Greene
Overview
An account book containing legal documents that records the history of the estate, household accounts, etc., kept by estate administrator William Webb for the estate of Reverend Richard Greene of England. The account-book runs from the death of Greene of Greatham to Richard I. Greene's death and the final settlement with Maria Greene (Richard I. Greene's sister) in 1794. Although the family is genteel and has income from investments and land, the income is very small.

Scope and Contents
The volume starts with a recounting of the history of the estate between the deaths of the parents. There follows chronological accounts ("The account of Wm Webb as administrator") and an acknowledgement of the account and discharge of monies due, signed by both "Beata Maria Greene" and "Wm Webb," dated September 11, 1794.
Income is listed on the verso of leaves in the first part of the volume: Sale of effects at Greatham, some itemized. Includes books (bought by Messrs White and Sons), manuscripts of sermons, coins, shells. Sold by Boyes (or Boyes & Jordan) who issued a catalogue August 2, 1786. Rent from various properties. Reimbursements for taking services (rectors named), glebe, tithes, etc. Investments in consols, etc. Rev. Richard Yalden's bond to Honoria Newlin, 1769; Edmund Yalden's mortgage on lands in East Tisted held by Richard Newlin.
Expenses are listed on the recto of leaves in the first part of the volume: Primarily clothing and schooling the children. Also expenses in settling the estate, coachhire, postage, legal fees; apprenticeship premium; investments. No attempt is made to keep the openings chronologically.
