This collection includes 2 manuscripts by the 18th century politician, John Wilkes. One is written by John Wilkes from the Hague in the Netherlands, December 17, 1767, to the man-of-letters, Jean Baptiste Antoine Suard, 1734-1817 [in France]. The other is a fragment of a manuscript dateable to circa 1774 based on the signatures it bears, "John Wilkes Mayor" and "Tho[ma]s Hallifax."
