Biography of Wilton Chamberlain
Wilton "Wilt" Chamberlain was a famous basketball player and track star from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania known for his superior size and athletic ability. Chamberlain attended the University of Kansas from 1955-1958 and played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1958-1974. He received many honors throughout his career, including two-time Nba Champion and four-time NBA Most Valuable Player.

The collection contains personal postcards, telegrams, notes, and newspaper clippings sent from coaches, University of Kansas alumni, and fans to Wilt throughout his basketball career. Chamberlain was depicted in cartoons and was also written about in sports articles. The collection also includes original letters from coaches including Forrest "Phog" Allen.
