Scope and Contents
Much of this record group involves records of the buildings and campuses of the University of Kansas. Architectural drawings for individual buildings, due to the potential access restrictions to those specific records, have been separately described. Campus maps and site plans describing the location and layouts of new developments are sometimes interfiled with the building plans but also are often separated--those that are separated are found in this finding aid. Similarly, RG 0 also contains maps of locations on the KU campus. These kinds of drawings and maps may also be closed due to security issues surrounding public buildings.
Textual records of buildings on the KU campus are also included. These records especially include news releases and correspondence about construction and renovation projects on campus.
The record group contains extensive photographic documentation of both the interiors and exteriors of buildings on the KU campus. These photographs show the development of the KU campus and were created both by the Lawrence Journal World and by University of Kansas staff.
RG 0 contains records about scholarships at KU. These records include scholarship applications and lists, as well as photographs of scholarship recipients. Applications and other specific information from students may be restricted from access.
While the School of Medicine has its own record group, as well as its own archives at the Kansas City, Kansas campus, RG 0 does hold some records from the University of Kansas Medical Center. Most of these documents are copies of administrative records, especially reports and correspondence about the Med Center, as well as news releases and other general information about the School.
Many of the remaining records include information about events at the University of Kansas, especially records of visitors to the KU campus. These records take the form of visitor guest books and announcements, as well as photographs and other records from the events themselves. The records pertain to a wide array of events on campus, including lectures and annual events such as commencements and convocations, as well as notable anniversaries of KU's formation, such as the centennial in the 1960s.
Because RG 0 holds records not belonging to any other record group, it also contains documents about many other subjects. Many of these subgroups were compiled by University Archives or KU Libraries staff. Frequently these materials are news releases and other records about subjects lacking sufficient documentation to have their own separate record group. Some of these records may overlap with records from other groups (for example, records in 0/22/131, the Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art, may overlap with records from RG 34, also the Spencer Museum of Art).

Other Finding Aids
