Scope and Contents
Awarded 2nd prize in the Quantrill's Raid Contest, this speech recounted the events of the raid and attributes "a new bond of friendship" between Kansas and Missouri developing from the raid. The raid also drove the "last wedge of public opinion into the stronghold of southern slavery" according to the author.
