Biography of Ella and William Traver
Ella Grace Rockefeller was born in 1857 in Franklin County, Indiana, the youngest daughter of E.K. or E.H. and Sarah Rockefeller. Her siblings included Mary, Charles, Ephram or Ephraim, Emma, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Frances.
Eventually Ella moved to Peabody, Marion County, Kansas, and served as the town's librarian. While living there, she met William H. Traver. She moved back to Indiana but in 1893 Traver went to Indiana, married her, and brought her back to Peabody.
William Traver was born in Canada in 1843, moving to the United States around 1871. While his main occupation was in carpentry, he held some local political offices over the years.
Ella and William had three children, John, Esther, and William. William H. Traver died in 1926, and Ella Traver died in 1934.
