Overview

This collection consists of materials from Lois Swaney (married name Lois Connelly), a singer known as the "Sweetheart of Song," who performed for several years with her band at the Hotel Phillips in Kansas City, Missouri. The collection includes several song request cards from performers working at the Hotel Phillips, a 1929 poster announcing Golden Mead and her Metropolitan Girls from South Dakota sent to Swaney, and several photographs of Lois Swaney and bands that performed in the 1940s.
