Overview
This collection includes photographic prints, cabinet card photographs, and tintypes of Stewart family members, who lived in Garnett, Kansas. Most of the photographs are unlabeled. Many photographs were taken in Kansas, but some were taken in Indiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

History of Garnett, Kansas
The Stewart family settled in Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas. Garnett was founded by Dr. George W. Cooper, who selected the site for the town in 1856; it is the county seat for Anderson County in eastern Kansas.
