Southeast Lawrence Improvement Association records
Overview
The Southeast Lawrence Improvement Association was organized in 1970, by residents of Southeast Lawrence. Southeast Lawrence was defined as 15th Street to Haskell University, and Massachusetts Street to Santa Fe Street. The mission of the organization was to advocate on behalf of property owners and residents for matters of taxation, traffic, zoning, and planning with the City of Lawrence. The collection consists of minutes and correspondence for the organization from its founding, in late 1970, to 1971.
