This collection contains Kristine McCusker's research completed for her thesis entitled "The Forgotten Years' of America's Civil Rights Movement." The research mostly consists of photocopied articles, letters, and papers; also in the collection are letters to and from McCusker and photographs with their negatives.

Biography of Kristine McCusker
Kristine McCusker was born and raised in the San Francisco area. She received a masters degree from the University of Kansas in 1994 after earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1987. She went on to earn her doctorate from Indiana University in 2000 in history, folklore, and ethnomusicology. She has written many publications about history, enthnomusicology, and the American South. She teaches history at Middle Tennesee State University and serves as co-executive director of the Oral History Association.
