Biography of John Michael Hayden
Mike Hayden was the 41st governor of Kansas, serving in that role from 1987-1991. He also served as the Secretary of the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department, in the United States Department of the Interior, and in the Kansas state legislature, holding the role of Speaker of the House when he won the Republican party nomination for governor. Prior to being in office he attended Kansas State University and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Hayden is married to Patti Ann Rooney and has two daughters.
