Biography of W. M. Boedefeld
William Maria Boedefeld was an architect, born in Muenster, Germany on October 13, 1903. He came to the United States through Brazil, escaping Germany on January 27, 1926, and applied for citizenship in 1930 in New York.
Boedefeld studied architecture at the Pratt Institute, New York University, and the Beaux Art Institute of Design, New York. He moved to Kansas City in 1945. He worked with architecture firms in New York City and Kansas City before he retired.
Boedefeld was particularly known as an artist and delineator who did renderings for a number of architectural and engineering firms. William M. Boedefeld died in Kansas City in Clay County, April 9, 1991.
