Biography of Alton Thomas
Alton Thomas started as an assistant professor at the University of Kansas in 1948 in the Architecture and Landscape department. On his own he worked on commission planning and constructing various landscape projects for businesses, organizations, and individuals, primarily in Kansas. He was the first campus landscape architect at the University of Kansas and retired in 1983 from the Facilities Planning Department.
