History of the Cyrus Cauldron Chapter of the Daughters of Mokanna
Cyrus Cauldron (sometimes Caldron) No. 8 was the Hutchinson, Kansas chapter of the Daughters of Mokanna (DoM). DoM was founded in 1919 and is a female auxilary of the Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm (MOVPER, or The Grotto), an appendant body in Freemasonry.
According to the Hutchinson News, between 1921 and 1922 the Hutchinson chapter appeared to have regular meetings at the Masonic Temple in Hutchinson. Membership numbers were reported at 500 women in 1921. They appeared to hold many parades, ceremonies, performances, and social events.
