Mary Isabel Cobb Payne diary
Mary Isabel Cobb Payne's diary for the year 1953, with some loose items removed to a separate folder. Payne wrote spottily, usually brief notations about comings and goings of family members, friends who called, family events (i.e. births, anniversaries, buying land, etc.), church or club events (i.e. P.E.O. meetings, church socials, etc.), some expenses paid, etc. March and June were the months most used in the diary. The volume also appears to contain a draft of Payne's speech accepting or declining the Kansas Mother of the Year award.
