Scope and Contents
This collection is made up of the papers of Steven Case and Steve Lopes, two members of Kansas Citizens for Science. Case served on the Kansas Science Education Standards Committee, and his papers are mostly curriculum drafts from multiple years, some of which were edited by state board of education members to include Christian Intelligent Design concepts. His papers also contain press about teaching evolution, correspondence, and KCFS minutes.
The papers of Steve Lopes are mostly printed emails. They document the organization of the group, the delegation of roles, and discussion of tactics. Meeting minutes are interspersed among emails and articles about teaching evolution, the proponents of intelligent design and their tactics, organizing events, and distributing information virtually and physically. Publications on the subject are also included, along with awards received by the KCFS, a few posters and signs created by KCFS, and a couple of cassette tapes.
