Collection of photographs and postcards of race relations in Kansas and Oklahoma
Collection of photographic prints and postcards showing race relations in Kansas and Oklahoma at the end of the 19th century through the first half of the 20th century. These images were bought in sets by Kenneth Spencer Research Library and compiled into a single collection. The collection also includes some images from the 1908 Springfield, Illinois race war.

The collection is organized by location and topic: the August 1908 Springfield, Illinois race war; the June 1, 1921 race riot in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the Ku Klux Klan in Kansas; and miscellaneous photographs of African American businesses, churches, organizations, schools, and activities in Kansas and Oklahoma.

Several publications and a pin were also purchased at the same time of these prints and separately cataloged. They can be found by searching KU Libraries online catalog for the phrase "Frand Wood Regional African American Collection."
