Overview
This collection contains records created and compiled by Virginia (Lucas) Rogers, an alumna of the University of Kansas Class of 1917. This collection includes scrapbooks, personal diaries, and photographs documenting Rogers's young life in the Kansas City and Abilene, Kansas area. The collection also contains material from Rogers's time at the University of Kansas, including a commencement program and yearbook for the Class of 1917 and an annual letter and directory from the Alpha Nu Chapter.

Biography of Virginia (Lucas) Rogers (1894-1980)
On November 24, 1894, Virginia Wiles Lucas was born to Judge Olaf A. and Daisy Wiles Lucas in Kansas City, Missouri. Virigina studied at the University of Kansas from 1913 to 1917 and received a degree from the College of Liberal Arts. At KU, Virginia was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Phi Beta Kappa.
Virigina Lucas met Ames Patterson Rogers at KU, and in 1920, they were married and moved to Abilene, Kansas. Virigina and Ames had two children, Virginia Jane (Rogers) Ferris and George Ames Rogers II. Ames passed away on February 26, 1940, and Virginia passed away on April 5, 1980 in Abilene, Kansas.
