History of the Lawrence, Kansas Planned Parenthood Clinic
The Kansas City Planned Parenthood clinic in collaboration with the Douglas County Family Planning Association established the Lawrence Planned Parenthood clinic in the mid-1960s to provide medical examinations, contraceptive instructions, and counseling on family planning and sexual health. Notably, the clinic was one of the first clinics to be established in a semi-rural university town that already had a family planning center in Lawrence's public health office. The clinic was closed in 2010.

Scope and Contents
The Lawrence Planned Parenthood clinic, wanted to make a film about overpopulation and issues with birth control. Roger Doudna, a graduate student in philosophy and an ethics teacher at the University of Kansas, directed the film "Less Than Human." The 27 minute film explores themes of overpopulation in various parts of the world and provides a brief history of Planned Parenthood.
