Kansas postcard collection
Overview
Black and white or color lithographic and real photographic postcards of scenes from around the state of Kansas in the 20th century, organized alphabetically by place name. Typically exterior views of public buildings, historic structures, or commercial structures, such as hotels/motels, train stations and depots, or street scenes, as well as some images of interesting geological features or park scenes. Mostly lithographic prints, includes some drawings and sketches instead of photographs. There are also some composite images of multiple scenes around a city or town. Dating provided is frequently from postmarks.
