History of Take Ten, Incorporated
Take Ten, Inc. was a video production company founded by Linda K. "Sam" Haskins in 1987 in Lawrence, Kansas. Haskins worked with the Centron Corporation before departing the company and founding Take Ten. Take Ten worked as a contractor with Coronet/MTI film and video production company via its association with Centron after Centron was purchased by Coronet in 1981, though Take Ten also worked on several films independently during the same time period. Much of the company's later work was independent of other film production studios.
Take Ten primarily created human-interest stories, covering history, public interest issues, and educational films. Take Ten won several awards, including the Cine Golden Eagle Awards and screenings at film fesitvals across the U.S. and abroad.

Scope and Contents
While materials remain physically in the order in which they arrived at Spencer, this collection has been intellectually organized into several series, reflecting the various record types that both Haskisn and Take Ten incorporated created. These series include Video Production Papers; Coronet/MTI Catalogs; Audiovisual Notes; Oversize Materials; and Audiovisual Materials.
The Video Production Papers series, the bulk of the collection, includes papers related to various video productions Take Ten created. These materials include notes, contractual agreements, scripts, script treatments, and storyboards that were created for Take Ten shooting. Haskins identified several productions where Take Ten was only used for part of the production, either with Haskins/Take Ten directing or with Take Ten employees creating the script or shooting the production.
The Coronet/MTI Catalogs series contains Coronet/MTI catalogs that include Take Ten productions while Take Ten was working as a contractor with Coronet/MTI.
The Audiovisual Notes series covers papers related to the various audiovisual materials Take Ten created. This includes discussion guides, notes, and inventories.
The Oversize Materials and Audiovisual Materials series concern those materials which have been physically separated from the rest of the collection due to their special housing needs.
