The Wagner family collection includes notes written by Clara E. Wagner (1889-1985) about the descent in the Stauth-Wagner family of the 18th-century German bible brought to America in 1833 by their ancestor, John George Stauth.

This edition of the Bible, based on Martin Luther’s translation and with later additions by others, is titled Biblia: das ist: die gantze Heilige Schrifft Alten und Neuen Testaments verteutscht durch D. Nebst einem Gesang-und Gebet-Buchlein...und Johann Arnds so genantem Informatorio biblico, oder biblischen Errinerungs-Puncten (Wittenberg: Christoph Wustens, 1706-1707).

The collection was given to Kenneth Spencer Research Library in honor of John Robert Latta, University of Kansas Class of 1993, by his mother, Judy Wagner Smith, and her sisters Susan Wagner Elliott and Rita Wagner, granddaughters of Clara Wagner.
