Exoduster Century booklets
Overview
The Exoduster Century collection consists of two booklets released in 1980 about the history of formerly enslaved people migrating to Kansas. The pamphlets were produced in conjunction with "Black Exoduster Week" celebrated by the state of Kansas in 1979. "The Exoduster Century 1879-1979" booklet was produced by Barbara J. Sabol, secretary of the Kansas Department on Aging. "The Thompson Family written by Forestine Thompson Blount for The Exoduster Century" provides a history of her family, recognized as "trailblazers of Kansas" by Governor John Carlin.
