Scope and Contents
Newton writes to Dr. Churchill inquiring about the possibilities of reading medicine with him. Churchill practices in Nevada, Missouri. Newton also comments on economic conditions in Texas and blames cattle merchants for the scarcity of money in the state. The accompanying clipping, not referred to in the letter, was a letter to the editor written by a woman commenting on birth control methods currently used by her "American sisters," the frequency of abortion, and their results.
