Patrick family papers and correspondence
Overview
Correspondence, forms, an accounting booklet, complaints, and other documentation from Colonel Samuel L. Patrick during his time as a Sac and Fox Indian Agent and from his daughter Harriet (Patrick) Gilstrap, who served as a teacher at Native American boarding schools before her marriage to Harry Benson Gilstrap. Much of Colonel Patrick's correspondence concerns the possible misaccounting and recordkeeping under the previous agent, former Confederate Brigadier General Edward L. Thomas.
