This letter from Noble Lovely Prentis, who worked at the Lawrence Journal, to George W. Martin, editor of the Kansas City Gazette, advises that he (Prentis) has "decided to accept Martin's offer. The nature of the "offer" is never clarified. For additional biographical information about Prentis and his relationship with Martin see Kansas Historical Collections, VII (1901-1902), pp. 410-417, and especially the footnote, p. 415.
