Palgrave regrets having to reduce the number of statistical tables and the size of a paper that he is submitting and notes that he has sent off his paper on international coinage to an editor of the British Quarterly. He appreciates Hendriks' suggestions for improvements on his papers.

Palgrave regrets an error in The Economist that mistakenly gives him credit that is due Hendriks and asks Hendricks to review two enclosed notes (not included) to the journal. Palgrave also has some concerns about the timing of another of his publications.
