Letter from Edward Bidwell, April 14, 1909
Bidwell includes a piece of Hewitson's notepaper but regrets that he doesn't have anything to send Parkin with Hewitson's writing on it. Bidwell asks that Parkin bring him a picture and hopes that Parkin's gout is gone.
Letter from William C. Hewitson, [April 21, 1853]
Hewitson writes to an unknown correspondent about his familiarity with the Farne Islands where eggs might be collected. He mentions a lighthouse on an outer island where the father of the "daring Grace Darling" lived. He asks the correspondent to forward any information promptly as the third edition of part 1 of Hewitson's book is to be published soon.
Letter from John Grant, April 30, 1909
John Grant acknowledges Parkin's order for Hewitson's British Birds Eggs and writes that he has sent the books to Parkin's address in Hastings. Grant also notes he is enclosing an invoice [not found with this letter].

Grant replies to Parkin's inquiry about J. Irvine Smith and adds that while he did not know if Smith was interested in ornithology, he did know that Smith collected fine paintings, illustrations and illustrated books.
