Grant Goodman was a Japanese translator for the U.S. Army during WWII. He later became a history professor at KU and made indispensable contributions to the global field of East Asian study. This collection contains his correspondence, research materials, clippings, class notes, and papers.

A liber amicorum presented to William H. Taft as ex-governor of the Philippines. The volume cover reads "Exc’mo viro … Guillelmo H. Taft: Rector, doctores … universitatis Manil. hoc obsequium … offerunt, 1905."
