Overview Sir Edwin Arnold (1832-1904) was an award-winning poet and journalist. Born and raised in Essex, England, Arnold earned both a B.A. and M.A. from Oxford. In 1873, he became chief editor of the major London newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, a post that he held for 16 years.
