This collection consists of materials related to Clenece Hills' teaching career, as well as her interests and activities in the Lawrence, Kansas community. The collection also includes family and genealogical information, information from when her husband James was faculty adviser to the Haskell Indian Nations University student newspaper, and information from Mildred Seaman.

Overview Denise Low was the Poet Laureate of Kansas from 2007-2009 and served on the faculty of Haskell Indian Nations University for over 25 years, during which time she founded the creative writing program. Low has published over 20 volumes of poetry, essays, edited collections, and other writings and is co-publisher of Mammoth Publications.
